Kamy continues to amaze me with how flexible she’s become about eating. She’ll eat just about anything, any time, and nearly as much as I’ll feed her. Yesterday she had an entire pear for breakfast, a huge banana for lunch, and a cup of pumpkin for dinner. I don’t know where she puts it all!
Dinner – pumpkin!
All gone!
We’re slowly expanding her diet to include more “big people” food. She’s pretty tired of baby food purees, so I try to integrate bites of our meals when I can. We’re still avoiding dairy until 9 months and milk until 1 year, but I know Kamy is enjoying the variety.
Munching on green beans and biscuits at Cracker Barrel with Nana.
What a cute smile!
Chewing on the remnants of a pizza crust with Oma. She’s a little wet from drinking out of a straw too. =)
When I want to eat my own food or slow her down, I’ll give her some pieces that she can feed herself. While it’s not the neatest way of eating, McKamy is actually pretty effective and gets the majority of the food in her tummy and not every where else. Things that crumble get more challenging though! Crescent rolls this morning were kind of messy too … and bananas have a tendency to squish!

We’re still working on her patience — when you’re feeding her, she expects to be fed NOW, so don’t twiddle your thumbs or multi-task or she’ll tell you exactly what she thinks about it. She’s a bit more patient with me since I feed her most often and she knows that I haven’t forgotten about her, but that patience doesn’t necessarily spread to Grandmindy or Grandpops or Payton or Daddy. We’re working on it!
Thanks for being such a great little eater McKamy! I love that your diet mostly consists of fruits and vegetables and whole grains whenever possible. I hope that we can keep on track and continue eating healthy, nutritious foods. I know it’s helping change our perspective on what Momma and Daddy eat too.
Hehe…love that last pic!
