Updates

So, I’ve completely dropped the ball on this whole blog-thing lately.  I can blame it on being busy, but I have this sneaking suspicion that that won’t change any time soon.  =)

Here’s an update on what’s been going on in our little house:

  • Kamy’s walking!  She can walk clear across the room now and often does when she wants something in particular.  Crawling is still more efficient and faster than walking, but it’s no longer an issue of “ability” but rather “desire” for her to walk.

  • Kamy’s mimicing has increased exponentially!  She mimics sounds that you make … or that come from her toys.  She’ll also blow kisses to you, wave, say “bye bye” consistently again, and in general is being much more interactive and independent.  Sometimes I can just see the wheels turning in her brain.  At Easter she learned that Easter eggs can be “popped” open, so each and every egg had to be inspected for quality control.  She obviously didn’t know that there is traditionally candy or something IN each egg, but she could have fooled me!

  • Kamy had her first sleepover at Grandmindy’s house last week.  Keller and I arranged for the sleep over so we could go out to close on our new house without having to make her ride in the car so long and wait through the closing process.  It was a good decision, though I was sad to leave my baby girl for so long.  It was definitely the longest that I’ve been away from her!  She had a great time with Grandmindy though, and when she saw me again she was like “Oh, okay, it’s you.  You were here, right?”  Hehe.

  • McKamy is still very interested in buttons.  Any buttons will do, though ones that light up or make noises are the most fun.  She loves playing with remotes and will often turn on the tv by accident.  If the power button lights up, you can be certain that she’ll be pushing it.

  • Kamy’s big into pointing right now.  When she points at something, she nearly always says “dis” at the same time.  It’s pretty cute since it sounds like she’s saying “this” over and over.  Her pointing is getting more purposeful and clearer and she sweeps her hand around randomly less often.

Kamy’s learning and growing so quickly right now, it’s hard to keep up with everything that is new.  It seems like as soon as I turn around she’s figured out something else.  It’s an amazing time in her life right now, and Keller and I are so blessed to get to help her develop into the girl and ultimately woman she’ll become.  For now though, we’re having a blast with our toddler!
