For the 4th of July, we drove down to Longview to watch the fireworks display. They’ve got one of the largest displays in the area, so we were looking forward to going. Payton spent the weekend with us and stayed through Monday night to watch the fireworks.
A large thunderstorm came through about an hour before dark. We made the best of it and played in the car while waiting for the storm to pass (and for it to get dark).

While waiting, Kamy discovered the joys of push-on lights and windshield wipers! It’s so amazing to me to watch her little brain work and see what fascinates her. She was quite focused on figuring out what was going on …
Look! The light turns on! Holy cow!
One of the best games was watching the windshield wipers go back and forth. I love listening to her draw in her breath in excitement each time the wipers go by. Sorry for the low video quality, once again I wasn’t prepared and had to use the video setting on our camera instead. =(
Again Daddy, again!
What’s more fun than this?
Once the storm ended, the fireworks show started up. Kamy enjoyed the fireworks, especially the finale. She kept laughing and pointing and screeching at all the fireworks. For being out waaaay past her bedtime, Kamy sure was a trooper. We’ve got the most flexible baby in the world — thanks for having fun with us little girl!
It’s real big smile-time every time I see
the films, particular the dancing part.
so cute!!
