1 Week Old

Has it really already been a week since Caden was born?!?  I have no idea where the time has gone!  We’ve had such a wonderful week and have really enjoyed getting to know our new little one.

He’s got the sweetest, easy-going personality.  Aside from crying a little when it’s time to eat or if I take too long during a diaper change, he’s so content.  He loves to be held and will snuggle with you all the time if you’ll sit still long enough!

I didn’t know if it was possible for a baby to be easier than McKamy was, but he’s giving her a run for the money so far.  Everything is still looking good — he’s eating better (more than just snacking) and sleeps like a champ.  The last several nights he’s gone 3 hours at a time between feedings, which makes a huge difference for a tired Momma and Daddy.

We’ve enjoyed having more family come visit.  Both Grandpops and Uncle Payton came to visit Friday afternoon and spent the night with us here.  Then Oma and Opa came out Saturday afternoon and are spending the weekend in Linden.  Oma spent this afternoon over here helping juggle the kids and letting Daddy and me sleep.  Kamy’s doing a sleep over with Oma and Opa in Linden tonight as well, so Daddy and I got to have some nice downtime with just Caden.  Family is such a blessing!

Kamy’s really loved all the attention and is being SUCH a great big sister.  Grandmindy brought her a baby doll for her and it’s really become McKamy’s baby.  She puts the baby in the swing when Caden’s not in it and will pick her up and carry her around going “shhh” or “oh oh oh” like I do with Caden.  It’s super cute!  She loves to give Caden kisses and almost always comes to check on him when I’m changing his diaper and he’s fussing.  All in all, it’s been a smooth transition for her and I’m so relieved.
