So, I figured that things would be a bit busier around here once Caden arrived. However, I underestimated the sheer volume of busy-ness that’s occurring! I was “warned” over and over that I’d be busy having two babies under two, and it’s not just more loads of diapers in the washer. Lol! I feel lucky if I can manage to get 10 minutes to myself and a shower in the same day!
I’m learning how to juggle taking care of both kids at the same time. If I can tag team one after the other during the day, it’s not too bad. The hardest part is when both kids need my attention at the same time. Sometimes I’ll put Caden down to do something for Kamy and he will not have anything to do with it — he will go from 0 to 100 in no time flat! And he has some lungs when he gets upset! Oh no!
Kamy’s being such a great big sister and is beyond patient with me while I take care of Caden during the day. She will tolerate his constant nursing and diaper changes exceptionally well. I know she’s getting the short end of the attention split, but there’s not much I can do about it right now. She is so helpful during the day and will open and close doors for me and supervise Caden’s diaper changes. And when she decides it’s time for her to get my attention, she’ll tell me Caden needs to go in his swing for a while. =P
I used the Baby Bjorn with Caden for the first time a few days ago so I could take Kamy outside to play a bit. Like Kamy, he hated facing inward but tolerates facing out much better. It’s not an ideal solution, but it frees my hands a little so I can help Kamy. She’s always loved spending time outside, so I try to make sure we can get out at least every other day.
Keller’s been a big help — especially with McKamy. Since Caden isn’t eating from a bottle well yet, all feedings are still on my plate. However, Keller can get Kamy up in the morning and entertain her for a few hours while I get some more sleep. It makes a huge difference and I’m very appreciative. If I’m lucky, I can get both kids down for a nap at the same time and snag one of my own … though not always successfully.
All in all, things are going well. We’re all adjusting to the “beee” and managing to stay fed and in clean clothes. Some things are falling by the way-side, but there’ll come a time for catching up. For now, we’re just trying to enjoy this precious time. Hopefully both photos and blog posts will become more regular, but know that I’m trying! Typing one handed just isn’t very efficient but at least the view is sweet …
Very Precious!!!! xoxoxox
