Thursday was another big adventure.
One of our plans for the trip was to pick up the old fishing boat that’s been in the garage and bring it home with us. There’s a nice little lake just down the road from us in Lone Star and we decided it would be neat to have a little boat to putter around in and take the kids out on the lake. Grandbobby said we were welcome to have it, so Keller and Payton have been working on it this trip to make sure it will make the drive home without a problem. After checking the tires and fixing the bearings on the trailer, it looks good to go! Oh, and her name is Gertrude and Stephe (Steve) is the trailer. =P
Keller loves the boat, by the way. Every time he took it into town he would get comments on it and he’s pretty proud of Gertrude!
Another discovery in the garage was The Tilly Hat. Apparently this is THE fishing hat, and who can argue? Caden is such a cutie wearing it!
Thursday morning Keller and Payton took the boat out to Lake Electra to see if it would float! =) Fortunately it did and they didn’t run into any problems. They had a great time on the water and really enjoyed the peaceful morning and gorgeous scenery. Since Keller had promised he’d take Kamy out fishing, they wanted to make sure they knew what they were doing and felt pretty comfortable in the boat before taking a two year old along. Smart men!
Since the morning boating trip went well, they went back out after nap time with Kamy. I’m ready to go Daddy!
She had a great time! Kamy got to ride in the boat and even got to drive it! She loves spending time with just Daddy and Payton, so it was perfect. They didn’t catch much, but Kamy’s already a born fisherman cause if you ask her how many they caught, you’ll get an answer anywhere from five to twelve!
Kamy had a great time, and she’s requested multiple times to go fishing in the boat since we got home. I think it was a success!
Looks like you all are having such a fun adventure.
