After a short trip to DFW for Payton’s graduation, we drove down to Liberty Hill to visit Keller’s cousin and their family. We’d been invited several times before but this was the first time we were able to make it happen. I’m so glad we did! Reed and Mary did their very best to corrupt us with a new board game hobby, archery for Keller, and great food.
We had a wonderful time staying with Reed and Mary and letting the kids play together. Kaylie is seven, so she’s old enough to rule the roost and show Kamy was to do. She really took Kamy in under her wing and Kamy loved spending time with her once she got home from school. Carter is four and is enamored with Kamy and always wanted her attention. Preston and Caden are just six weeks apart, so they spent most of their time following the bigger kids around and trying to keep up.
The big kids got to eat at their own table, booster car seats were moved around for talking in the car, and a great time was had by all. As Keller put it, “It was big fun.” Kamy even got to sleep in Kaylie’s room the last night — no one bothered to tell either of them that you’re supposed to stay up all night talking during a sleepover!
Oh, and they’ve got Great Danes … BIG dogs. =P
I’m so glad that we have cousins the same age that Kamy and Caden can spend time with. We were blessed to get to visit and I hope we can do it again soon!
