Christmas

Christmas 2015 was such a special time.  We were glad to be able to see everyone for the holidays!  As our families expand, it gets harder and harder to get everyone together at the same time.  We’re big believers in holidays being whatever day we happen to celebrate it on — not just on a specific day on the calendar.  This year was no exception, as we had five different rounds of Christmas celebrations!

Saturday the 19th we celebrated with Nana, Gina, and Granpops.  We drove in first thing in the morning for breakfast before heading over to Nana’s house.

Sunday we celebrated with Keller’s extended family at Grandmommy and Grandbobby’s house.  Nearly everyone was there and it is always such a treat to watch all the cousins playing together.  Each year we seem to be adding a little person or two … GM and GB are going to need a bigger house soon!  =)

For a change, this year we actually celebrated our family Christmas at home!  I pulled out all our Christmas decorations and the kids loved helping decorate the house.  We didn’t put up lights on the outside of the house, but we may next year since the front of the house would be so pretty all lit up in lights.  Min came out Christmas eve for dinner and then was with us Christmas morning.

We gave Kamy a camera for Christmas!  It’s a real camera too, not a little kid’s camera, but it is waterproof and shock resistant to drops, so hopefully it’ll hold up well.  Kamy wasted no time in turning it on a promptly taking about 300 photos in the next 30 minutes!  She’s got a 16 gig memory card, so she can take more than 10,000 photos before she runs out of room.  Videos though … that uses a bit more data at a time.

Caden got a trampoline!  This gift gets more use than nearly anything else I can think of.  Both kids jump on it every. single. day.  Even today, May 3rd, they were both jumping on it!  To say it was a hit would be an understatement for sure.

After gifts, we drove into DFW to stay with Granpops for the night.  I bought lasagna with us to eat (since there wouldn’t be many restaurants open Christmas night) and we enjoyed spending the evening with him.  Garin and Jess were able to come out to Granpops’ to visit for a bit and the kids opened even more gifts.

Bright and early the next morning we hit the road up to Colorado!  We were worn out by the time we got there, but the drive itself was very uneventful (the best kind!).  Sunday morning the kids were up bright and early and ready to open all the gifts hidden under the tree.  The kids were excellent elves and delivered everyone’s gifts.  The most exciting gifts were definitely the snow clothes that they’d use all week!
