As usual, we enjoyed several Christmas celebrations as we made time to see all our family. Â We’re so fortunate to have extended family close enough to visit consistently, even if it makes for a busy holiday season!
Two weekends before Christmas we went to DFW. Â There we did Christmas with Min, again at Grandmommy and Grandbobby’s with all the cousins, and once more with Granpops, Nana, and Gina. Â The kids loved seeing everyone and getting to open so many generous gifts. Â Caden particularly likes his Lego set and Kamy is determined to figure out how to do nice spirographs with her kit. Â Numerous puzzles have been enjoyed as well.
The kids were given more train tracks and accessories, so we built a massive train line one afternoon.
Christmas itself was spent at home! Â Last year we drove up to Colorado immediately after Christmas, but this time we stayed home for a change. Â Min came out for a couple of days to celebrate with us.
Keller and I gave the kids one big combined gift — a trampoline! Â They are both at a point in gymnastics where it would help to have a trampoline to practice on, and what kid doesn’t like jumping?! Â The trampoline is a huge hit and it gets daily use. Â Keller and I put it together under the car port Christmas Eve and the kids saw it from the window Christmas morning. Â They were so surprised!
Oma and Opa came down for a visit a week later. Â The kids talked Opa into jumping on the trampoline with them and promptly held him hostage there for the next hour, wearing him out and then not letting him off. Â =) Â They gave Caden his own waterproof, shock proof camera which has been a big hit! Â Kamy was given a 20″ bicycle, so she has new bigger wheels to ride.
Merry Christmas 2016 and Happy New Year 2017!
