2017 Fourth of July

Once again, we were privileged to host family for the 4th of July weekend.  We had a full house and everyone had a wonderful time.  The weather was not too hot, bugs weren’t a problem, and it was another great family event.

We picked blueberries and blackberries, but they were less than impressive this year.  Oh well — that happens sometimes.  We did have plenty of opportunities for hanging out in the back yard, dinner on the deck, smores and hammocks in the evening.

Water is always a hit in the summer and this was no exception.  The kids (and Regine) had a lot of fun playing with water balloons and Kora (Regine’s dog) liked to walk off with them in her mouth.

We played many different games, including a new one called Captain Sonar which was a very fun multiplayer.

Opa also cleaned up Gertrude and helped take her out on the lake.  They brought a soft knee board and ski rope from Colorado too.  We dragged the kids around on the water and Kamy even tried up on her knees once!

The guys and Regine had a blast shooting off fireworks.  Opa and Regine brought some fireworks with them, we bought a bunch, and Payton and Corinne picked out a handful too.  It was quite a show across two nights!  We invited our neighbors to come join us too.  Opa fixed our old chairs too, so we had plenty of seating to go around this time.

Thanks to everyone for coming out and making the 4th annual 4th of July so much fun!  Same time same place next year!
