Wednesday we decided to go into Durango for the afternoon. We ate lunch at May Palace and then headed over to the new Durango Discovery Museum. We saw the sign for it as we drove in, but we hadn’t heard about it so we did some research online and decided it was a place we needed to check out!
It’s set up as a small hands-on science museum. Most of the activities are for kids who are a bit older, but both Kamy and Caden had a nice time. There was a small area set aside for 0-4 year olds with a neat light table, balls, and a bunch of toys.
One of Kamy’s favorite gadgets in the museum was an air machine that would blow balls or scarves up through a pipe and then float down. She thought it was so cool!
There was also a “tree house” climbing area that was a bit big for Kamy to do alone, but Daddy and Payton helped her through it. She loves to climb!
After the museum, we walked down to the Animas River for a little bit before heading to the city park to play. Caden amused himself on the grass while Kamy went to the playground. She loves slides and spent a solid 45 minutes going up and down.
We had nasi for dinner back at the cabin and then put everyone to bed early. The kids were definitely worn out by the end of the day. Considering there were no naps to be found, they both did great!
