Nap Time and Shopping

So sweet little McKamy has added an afternoon nap to her daily routine!  Sometime after lunch, she’ll usually fall asleep and snooze for about 2 hours straight.  It’s wonderful since it means that I can get some stuff done around the house in the afternoon when she’s asleep.  I can’t complain at all, now can I?  Lol!

Today she fell asleep while I was out running errands and shopping in Town Square.  I found the cutest little dress for her to wear this summer while I was out!  I’ve tried really hard not to spend a lot of money on clothes for her — partly because she is growing so quickly and wouldn’t wear it long and partly because we really have enough clothes for her at the moment any way.  BUT, this dress was so cute and on sale for only $10, so I figured I could splurge a bit.

I also bought myself a pair of earrings from James Avery while I was out.  Since Kamy is starting to grab on to things, I’ve banished my dangling earrings to the jewelry box for the foreseeable future.  I’ve got a pair of diamond studs and little pearls, but I wanted something a bit more casual to wear every day.  I had a gift card in my purse from a return months and months ago, so it was nice to get something that I know I’ll wear.

McKamy was still asleep in her car seat when I got her home and inside, so I’ve just left her in it until she wakes up.  The number 1 rule of babies is “Don’t wake the baby!”  I’m not going to risk waking her up by moving her out of the car seat.  She’s just fine where she is!  On a related note, I love Aunt Donna’s philosophy for waking babies – “You wake it, you take it!”  That’s right!

She has really been such an easy baby to take care of and she’s made transitioning into Motherhood easier than I could have imagined.  I cannot believe she is almost two months old already!  Thank you sweet McKamy for being Momma’s little angel!
