I cannot believe our little girl is already a week old! It seems like we waited for her to come for so long and now she’s only just arrived!
She’s wrapped us around her little hand and stolen our hearts away. I cannot imagine not having her in our lives already – my how much has changed in just a week!
I swear she’s already getting bigger. When we have cuddle and skin to skin time she doesn’t fold up into this little ball like she did when we first brought her home. She’s growing and learning and getting more interactive every day.
Kamy is figuring out so much about our world already. She’s learning our night time routine and is getting better and better about relaxing and going back to sleep after changing and nursing at night. She’s following faces with her eyes and tracking objects that are in front of her face. She’s decided it is MUCH better to be held and cuddled than put in her bassinet when she’s not sleepy, so Momma’s hands are busy! We are learning how to read her cues – when she is hungry (always!), wet, or just wants to cuddle. We’re learning how to listen to her cries and tell what (if anything) is wrong and how to fix it. We are getting quicker about dressing and changing her. Now we are trying to figure out whether she’s down for the count or just needs a short nap after nursing – if I can figure that out, I’ll be set!
So happy birthday little girl … we love you more than the world and so much more than I thought was possible.
