McKamy has learned that a new toy comes periodically in the mail … magazines and sales fliers! The more photos the better because she loves looking at all the colors. We’d gotten a brief hint of this a few weeks ago when she played with wrapping paper, but today she was quite enthralled.
We got a Babies R Us flyer in the mail about their new promotions. While looking through it, McKamy decided she wanted a page … or two … or ten. I ended up partially tearing out pages and letting her grab them and pull them out the rest of the way. That was fun, especially the ripping noise! ((Side note — I may come to regret this strategy later if she decides pages in books need to be removed as well. Perhaps this is not the optimal approach! Fortunately I can learn these things at 5 months, long before she’ll start building said habits.))

This one!
Kamy ended up with a pile of about ten pages around her feet. She proceeded to entertain herself with them for almost fifteen minutes. Between chewing on the pages, listening to them crinkle and rustle, and pushing them around, she was having a blast. Fun stuff!
After moving from my computer desk to the floor, Kamy got even more excited and was flailing her arms around. When a page got particularly wet and limp, I’d snag it from her and give her another one. While I don’t mind her playing with the pages, she doesn’t really need to be eating paper and ink. Lol!
