Linden Escape

This past week(end-ish) we skipped out to Linden for several days.  Keller has a new schedule at work that allows for either 3 or 4 day weekends each week.  It’s not a traditional Saturday – Sunday weekend but rather runs Sunday – Tuesday or Wednesday.  Since this week was a “long” weekend with 4 days we took advantage of the time and made another trip to Linden.

Grandmindy joined us for the first two days out there as well, so it was nice to spend some time with her and have an extra set of hands to help with McKamy.

One of the projects we tackled while we were out there was putting up a new swing for Kamy.  I remember having a tire swing that got a lot of use from my sister and me while we were growing up.  This was Kamy’s first time in a swing and it was a huge hit!  She LOVED it and had the biggest smile on her face.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous while we were out there!  The trees were just starting to turn for fall — especially the maples and the dogwoods.  Upper seventies or lower eighties all weekend was so pleasant.  It ended up raining all day on Monday, but it was nice to get to relax inside and have some down time.

McKamy slept fairly poorly each night.  It seemed like she was up every 2 hours.  In a small trailer and with company, I couldn’t just ignore her like I would have at night.  Oh well … just a few days!  =)  I did get some wonderful photos of Tuesday morning’s sunrise though since I was up with Kamy anyway.

Good morning!

Kamy figured out how to hold on to things to help her stand up!  It’s really only a matter of time until she figures out that she can pull up and shuffle side ways on furniture.  Mobility is increasing one little bit at a time!

We always have such a great time in Linden.  I love watching Kamy’s face light up as she experiences the world around her and learns more and more each day.  She is such a joy to watch!
