Week of Ick

So sorry that I’ve been remiss in posting this past week. Keller and I have both been sick.

By the time we beat the sore throat away, weed pollen skyrocketed from all the rain from Hermine and allergies took their toll on us.  Keller was able to manage the symptoms relatively well with medication, but I didn’t take anything since we’re still nursing.  It’s been a rough couple of days here in the Giacomarro house!  Huge thanks to both my neighbor Terran and Oma for coming to our rescue during the week and entertaining Kamy while Momma got some much needed rest.

Fortunately Kamy must have some super immune system because she has stayed healthy and happy the whole week.  I was so relieved!  There’s not much that you can do to prevent a baby from getting sick when her caretakers are ill.  And there’s even less you can do for them if they DO get sick.  Other than a little runny nose, Kamy’s been just fine.

Monday we all went up to Oma and Opa’s house for visiting.  While the water was too chilly for Momma to get in, Opa and Kamy got in the pool to swim for a bit.  Keller joined us after work for dinner and we all had a nice time visiting.

Tuesday morning Momma felt quite awful and so we skipped Bible study.  I certainly wasn’t up for getting out of the house and didn’t want to risk getting anyone else sick.  I asked my neighbor Terran to come watch McKamy for an hour while I took a nap.  A little extra rest goes a long way when you’re not feeling well.  Wednesday Oma came to the rescue and spent all afternoon here with Kamy.  A 2 1/2 hour nap and a long hot shower were just what I needed.  Thursday and Friday were devoted to catching up on all my errands and house cleaning that usually get done in the beginning of the week.  Saturday included swim lessons and then a cookout / party for the afternoon.

Here are a couple photos from play time this week.
