Miss McKamy loves her swing! It’s one of the most used gifts that we received and we are very glad to have it. It’s a wonderful place to set her down if I need to work in the kitchen or do laundry or run to the mail box. It keeps her mostly happy (especially if she’s happy before you put her in it) and I don’t have to worry about her wiggling into trouble. We also tend to put her in her swing when we are eating dinner.
One of the great features of this swing is the ability to set the motion to swing side to side OR front to back. Sometimes one works better than the other for Kamy, so I certainly appreciate that. The rocking motion will also help put her to sleep if she’s a bit fussy and will help keep her asleep once she is out. It also saves my back from having to twist back and forth and back and forth in order to soothe her and keep her relaxed. Can’t beat that!
In the last week or so she’s also started to pay more attention to the small mobile that hangs above the swing and she’ll watch it go back and forth for quite a while. It’s so amazing to watch her take these little developmental steps and learn.
Here’s my little sleepy girl:
Note – In case you’ve noticed, I tend to have those off white cloth things under Kamy for most of the photos that we take. They are the medium size of the cloth diapers that we use. I put them under Kamy to catch the random spit ups and milk bubbles and miscellaneous damp-ness that comes with a baby. It’s so much easier to just wash that one piece with the rest of the daily diaper load than taking apart the swing or crib mattress or play gym. Mommy smarter, not harder!
