Family Time

We had a very busy weekend!

Living close to family and friends is such a blessing, but it also means that we tend to be hopping when everyone wants to spend time with the new addition.  She loves company!  Kamy hardly ever gets put down when we spend time with family, so I can’t say I blame her!  I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Here’s a quick run down of what happened:

Friday – Garin and Payton (McKamy’s nutty uncles) came into town for the weekend.  Garin’s birthday is Monday the 5th and Easter was on Sunday.  They both spent the night at our house Friday night.  Fortunately Kamy was still feeling good when they were here since her tummy problems hadn’t started yet.  We had Nasi for dinner, one of Garin and Payton’s favorite dishes.  Both uncles are rather smitten with Kamy and love holding her!

Saturday – My best friend Lauren, her hubby, and her dad came by to visit Saturday afternoon since they were in town for the Easter weekend.  It was so nice to get a chance to spend some time with them and Kamy loved being held.  That evening we went to my mother-in-law’s house for Garin’s birthday dinner.  McKamy’s great grandparents were there as well, so there were four generations all together at once.  Kamy was a bit cranky since her tummy was bothering her, but she did really well overall.  I was the one falling asleep on the couch!

Sunday – We were back at Melinda’s Sunday afternoon for Easter lunch.  Grandmindy (or whatever McKamy ends up calling her) had the table all decorated for Easter and even had an Easter bunny for McKamy.  He’s so soft and a creamy light brown, so I named him Caramel.  =)

My parents then came over to our house Sunday afternoon to spend some time with us.  They’d been in Colorado for the past week so they hadn’t really seen her since we were in the hospital!  She’s definitely grown since then!  McKamy did really well and wasn’t too fussy with her tummy, so Mom spent quite a bit of time holding her and letting her suck on her finger.  It seemed to be a mutually happy situation!

My parents also brought over a bunch of my old things from their house.  Since they’re in the process of cleaning out the house in Argyle and getting it ready to sell, some of the miscellaneous items that we’d been storing are getting parsed out.  Keller was semi-thrilled at the prospect of putting it up in the attic!  I am really excited about having several of them put aside for McKamy when she gets a bit bigger – a doll house with Barbies, a china tea set, my American Girl doll, and my old Easter dresses that my grandmother made for me.  I’m such a dork too … I’m so excited that one day McKamy will be able to wear my favorite Easter dress – I think I wore it for 3 years!

Here are two photos of my old Easter dresses.  I don’t remember wearing the light peach or purple one but I DO remember the light pink, the white, and the pastel watercolor.  My grandmother made the first 4 dresses and bought me the last one.

Happy Easter everyone!
