Pool Party!

So Kamy and I went back to Oma and Opa’s house this afternoon for a visit.  It is always nice to get to spend time with them, but I wanted to get Kamy in the pool while we were there too.  We’d received a super cute swim suit at our shower back in February that just had to be worn!  And the weather’s finally gotten toasty hot here, so the water was just perfect for a swim.

Getting ready:

Testing the water:

Having fun – look at that smile:

McKamy really enjoyed the water!  I don’t think she quite knew what to think about it at the beginning, but she quickly warmed up to it and we got some great smiles and faces from her.  She might be a waterbug yet!  She really enjoyed moving through the water — the swooshing water felt so different on her little body!  What a new experience.

Talking to Oma about it:

One of my good friends gave me a floatie to use in the pool.  She used it with her son last summer but figured it was a bit too girlie with the big flower for shade, so she passed it along to me to use.  Kamy loved it!  She sure knew how to use her little feet and was kicking up a storm in it!  It’s still a bit big for her, but it worked great.

Floating:

Playing with Oma:

After about fifteen minutes in the pool, she started to get a little chilly.  She wasn’t shivering but her little chin was quivering a bit.  We took her out and wrapped her up in a big beach towel to dry off.

After topping off her tank (ie – nursing), our little Kamy was all out of juice.  I think we wore her out!

What a great day and great fun!  We can’t wait to do it again.

Note – Huge thank you to Grandpops for giving us a video camera to capture these moments.  We’re so appreciative!
