Success!

Little Miss McKamy surprised me last night by rolling over!  She made a full roll from her back to her tummy.  I know I’m a dork to be excited by that, but she’s just jumping over these developmental milestones right and left.  It’s keeping me busy just trying to keep up with her.

Last week she got really close to rolling over at my parent’s house.  She wasn’t quite there though – she’d gotten up on her side, then managed to rotate her hips so her legs were over but she never really made it over her shoulder.  And, since she hates being on her tummy, she promptly got upset about it and wanted nothing to do with it!  Lol!

Here’s the video from my parents:

Last night it was a full roll though – and the miracle of it was that she wasn’t upset as soon as she ended up on her belly!  Granted, it took about 30 seconds to get fussy, but that’s a far cry from what it usually is.  Unfortunately I didn’t catch it on video, but I’ll do my best to catch the next one.  I certainly wouldn’t say that she’s doing it on purpose yet, but we’re making great progress and I am sure she’ll have it figured out soon.

Here are a few photos from today.

Sittin’ pretty on the couch in a new outfit:

Playing in the play gym.  Notice we’ve got BOTH hands playing with the rings.  Fun!

  1. What a big girl! You are totally NOT a dork to get excited about all the milestones. When you pour so much time and effort into a little one, it’s amazing to see how it pays off! Love that she is gripping things with both hands too. Enjoy these one at a time milestones! I miss those days when I could keep up with Ian’s milestones on the blog. I really had no idea that when they get to Ian’s age, they start hitting two or three different milestones in a day! I am soooooo behind on blogging about all of them because they have been coming so quickly now!
