Here is a quick run down of all the birthday fun we had in DFW for Caden’s birthday. We ended up celebrating three times — with Nana and Granpops on Saturday, with Min on Sunday, and with Oma and Opa on Tuesday. Much fun (and cake) was had by all!
Nana’s:
After lunch at Niki’s, we went back to Nana’s house for gifts and cake. One of Caden’s favorite gifts was his new drum from Payton. He loves to play on it!
Caden wasn’t quite sure what to do about the cake. The icing felt weird on his hands and he wasn’t sure he was actually allowed to touch it. =P I fed him a few bites with my fork before he decided that it was actually okay.
At one point Caden wanted me to pick him up. As his hands were all covered in cake and icing, I kept out of his reach and declined his request. He was NOT pleased. It was pretty pitiful, but fairly humorous at the same time. Hehe! How can you cry with birthday cake in front of you?
Min’s:
Sunday evening we celebrated at Min’s house. Unfortunately Caden didn’t manage to stay awake for cake (he immediately started to cry when put in his booster seat, so it was bed time), but presents were a hit! Kamy made sure the cake was edible just in case. Min made him a birthday quilt with ponies on it … it’s so cute.
Oma and Opa:
On Caden’s actual birthday we went up to Oma and Opa’s house for the afternoon to play and do dinner and birthday. We were hoping to combine birthdays with Regine, but she wasn’t quite home from Alaska yet. While there were nuts in the birthday cake, Caden did get to have some icing and a cookie for his dessert. I don’t think he minded! =)
We had a great time visiting everyone in October and getting a chance to celebrate Caden’s birthday. We are so blessed to get to spend time with family on a regular basis and we’re thankful that we can come visit often. Happy birthday Caden-boy!
What a great birthday!
Pretty darn cute!! Is he allergic to nuts? He’s adorable!
