Little by little …

… McKamy is growing up.  It’s not fair!  She’s supposed to stay little at least for a while.

Kamy is now four weeks old!  I cannot believe it has been that long already.  It seems like just last week that we were bringing her home from the hospital and starting this journey.  I was not expecting the time to fly by so quickly!  I’m trying really hard to enjoy each day and each moment as they come — to enjoy where she is now and what she is learning and doing.  To not take for granted where she is now or that she will stay at that point.  To not always anticipate the next step (or skip a few steps) and be anxious about what it will be like when she can do “x.”

Kamy’s up to a solid 9 pounds (dressed) as of this morning.  That’s a full two pounds more than she was born at, even with the assumed weight of about 6 pounds and 14 ounces.  One thing is for certain, she knows how to eat!  It seems like she has a hollow leg or something at times … I just don’t know where she puts it all.  Apparently it is sticking somewhere and not just going straight through her!

Hanging out with Daddy:

Making faces at Daddy:

I wish this one had her face in focus, but I had to include it anyway cause her expression is priceless!

Today also brought another surprise and a milestone that I was NOT anticipating yet …

I set her down on the couch this afternoon to grab my lunch.  When I came back about 30 seconds later, she was laying on her chest.  She’d rolled over!

Okay, yeah, I certainly don’t pretend that she intended to do it or knows how it happened.  The couch slightly dips toward the center of the cushions and I’m guessing she just got her little legs and hips moving in the right direction that gravity did the rest.  But still!  I didn’t catch her in the act, but it still was a surprise when I found her that way.

Here’s my little rolley-polley!

<sniffs>  She’s growing up already.  Stay little Miss Kamy, Momma likes you this way!
